Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area is seeking a Lead Patient Care Technician to join our nursing team. You will deliver compassionate patient care, assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, and mentor newer staff to uphold high standards of care.

In this hands-on role, you will guide teammates, support procedures, ensure safety and infection prevention, and communicate important updates to the nursing team to promote timely, coordinated care.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
• Preceptor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with ADLs, mobility and comfort, measures vital signs, collects specimens, prepares for procedures, and monitors telemetry as needed.
• Documents patient care accuracy and communicates updates to the nursing team for coordinated, timely care.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices and ensuring supplies are ready.
• Responds to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort.
• Trains new team members and shares updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Patient Care Tech, you'll be an integral part of the nursing team, delivering compassionate care that impacts patients' lives every day. You'll provide hands-on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help guide and mentor and support the growth of new and experienced patient care tech staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), supporting mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing for procedures, and monitoring telemetry as needed
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care
• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready
• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust
• Training new team members, sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care
