Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee seeks a Lead Patient Care Technician to support the nursing team with hands-on patient care, monitor vital signs, assist with procedures, and oversee daily patient care activities.

You will mentor and train new staff, ensure infection prevention practices, document care accurately, and collaborate with nurses to maintain a safe, compassionate care environment for all patients and families.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a patient care tech or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with ADLs, supporting mobility and comfort, vital signs, collecting specimens, and monitoring telemetry as needed.
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating updates to the nursing team.
• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices and ensuring supplies are ready.
• Responding to patient needs through rounds and compassionate communication.
• Training new team members and sharing updates on policies and quality initiatives.
