Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Lead Patient Care Technician to join the nursing team and deliver compassionate, hands-on patient care. You will assist with procedures, monitor telemetry, and mentor new and existing technicians to support growth.

Requirements include BCLS, HCA Preceptor Training, and 1+ years at an HCA facility; CNA training is preferred. This full-time role is based on-site in Florida and emphasizes patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience at an HCA facility required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• HCA Preceptor Training within 90 days of employment start date
• CNA Training Program preferred
• 2+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with ADLs, mobility support, vital signs, specimens, procedures prep, and telemetry monitoring
• Documenting patient care and communicating updates to the nursing team
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment following infection prevention practices
• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication
• Training new team members and sharing updates on policies and quality initiatives

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Patient Care Tech, you’ll be an integral part of the nursing team, delivering compassionate care that impacts patients’ lives every day. You’ll provide hands‑on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help guide and mentor and support the growth of new and experienced patient care tech staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), supporting mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing for procedures, and monitoring telemetry as needed

• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care

• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready

• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust

• Training new team members, sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care

What qualifications you will need:
