Job summary

Harmons Grocery in Utah is seeking a Pastry Chef (Bakery) to maintain quality standards and product levels of all pastry products, train other Pastry Chefs, and handle production, decorating, and packaging. The role includes ordering, receiving, storing, and inventory control while delivering exceptional customer service.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year bakery experience preferred, and a current Food Handler's Permit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; one year bakery experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Current Food Handler's Permit
• Ability to read and follow a recipe
• Basic math skills used to half or double recipes

Responsibilities

• Follow established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensure the quality and freshness of all products and services the Bakery provides
• Maintain the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Bakery
• Confirm pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
• Keep the Bakery clean and sanitized daily and meet company standards for appearance
• Deliver excellent customer service to all customers
• Follow production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons' pastries
• Ensure the correct amount of ingredients and supplies are in stock
• Prepare, cook, bake, assemble, and decorate pastries for sale and back-stock
• Communicate openly with Store Director and Bakery Manager
