Job summary

East Arlington Baptist Church is seeking a Senior Pastor to oversee worship, preaching, discipleship, evangelism, and leadership development; to cast vision, provide pastoral care, and equip volunteers for ministry; and to shepherd the church toward spiritual maturity and community impact through prayer and teaching.

The candidate must be born-again, become a member on call, possess the pastor/teacher gift with a heart for shepherding, and be able to maintain confidential leadership and report

Qualifications

• Born-again believer in Jesus Christ
• Becomes member of the East Arlington Baptist Church upon acceptance of call
• Has the spiritual gift of pastor/teacher with shepherding concern
• Previous successful ministries will be considered
• Able to keep all appropriate information confidential
• Review and sign "Worker's Objectives" form

Responsibilities

• Oversee worship and preaching ministry
• Provide oversight over worship services
• Provide an environment through worship for Holy Spirit-led responses
• Oversee teaching ministry and disciple believers
• Provide leadership and instruction for a follow-up ministry
• Provide training for leadership and equipping volunteers
• Lead evangelism efforts and missionary outreach
• Moderate congregational and Official Board meetings in absence of Chairperson
• Remain ex-officio member of committees
• Oversee membership and baptismal classes
• Submit reports to the church at annual meetings
