First Baptist Church of Clinton, Mississippi, is prayerfully seeking a Lead Pastor to shepherd our
congregation and lead us into the next season of ministry.
FBCC Mission- “Reaching and equipping the generations to become fully devoted followers
of Christ.”
We are a multi-generational congregation with a deep love for Christ, His Word, and one
another. We are blessed with a talented and committed staff, vibrant ministries serving children,
youth, college students, adults, and senior adults. We also have a growing recovery ministry.
We are looking for a man who will follow Christ, shepherd people, preach the word, and lead
well.
Four Priorities
1. Follow Christ: Lead From a Life of Faith
We seek a man whose life demonstrates a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
and reflects the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership. He should lead with faith, prayer,
humility, integrity, and spiritual maturity.
2. Shepherd People: Pastor With Heart and Purpose
We believe the pastor is first and foremost a shepherd of God’s people—knowing, loving,
praying for, encouraging, protecting, and guiding the flock toward greater faithfulness to Christ.
We seek a pastor who will shepherd with humility and compassion, lead with wisdom, and serve
with a servant’s heart, caring for people through every season of life.
3. Preach the Word: Proclaim Truth Faithfully
We seek a gifted and faithful biblical preacher committed to the authority and sufficiency of
Scripture. He should communicate God’s Word clearly, point people to Christ, encourage
spiritual maturity, and faithfully proclaim the Gospel.
4. Lead Well: Equip People and Empower Ministry

We seek a collaborative leader who will lead our very talented staff with vision, encouragement,
accountability, and trust; recognizing and developing the gifts of others.
He should also have a strong desire to grow local missions, particularly by reaching the
marginalized and “the least of these” in our community.
We are not simply seeking someone to fill a position. We are praying for the man God has
prepared to serve as the next Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church of Clinton.
