Job summary

CityChurch is seeking a spiritually mature elder/pastor to shepherd a small congregation in a season of healing and rebuilding. The role focuses on expository preaching, pastoral care, and collaborative leadership with elders and staff to fulfill our mission.

The successful candidate will have an MDiv or equivalent and at least five years in congregational ministry, with training in pastoral counseling. Compensation includes vacation, and an annual education budget, reflecting our commitment to

Qualifications

Meets biblical qualifications for elder as per 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
MDiv or an accredited seminary degree.
At least 5 years of experience in congregational ministry.
Training and/or experience in pastoral counseling.

Responsibilities

Preach and teach expository sermons 26–39 Sundays per year in collaboration with other pastor.
Oversee small group and family ministries and collaborate with elders/deacons/staff on discipling initiatives.
Provide pastoral counseling, visit the sick, and support members in crisis.
Serve as an equal among the board of elders to provide spiritual leadership.
Active participation in the life of CityChurch and its community.
Collaborate on ministry and evangelism opportunities.
Offer administrative support to elders and deacons in church operations.
