Job summary

Connect Church in South Florida seeks a Lead Pastor to shepherd a ~500-attendance congregation with a strong SBC alignment.

The role requires biblical preaching, pastoral leadership, and effective oversight in partnership with the Elder Council and ministry staff. The church emphasizes text-driven preaching, community outreach, and spiritual growth within a culturally diverse setting.

Qualifications

• Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of pastoral gifting.
• Ordained as a pastor with affirmation of calling.
• Full agreement with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and SBC distinctives.
• Preferred 3–5 years of lead pastor experience at a growing church (500+).
• MDiv or higher from an SBC or like-minded evangelical seminary.

Responsibilities

• Preaching & teaching: biblically faithful, expository sermons aligned with SBC 2000.
• Leadership & vision: lead Elder Council, staff and ministries; pursue church direction.
• Pastoral care & discipleship: shepherd, counsel, visit, weddings, funerals, baptisms; disciple growth.
• Staff & ministry oversight: supervise pastoral staff and ministry leaders; ensure alignment with mission.
• Administration & stewardship: manage budget, facilities, and technology for ministry efficiency.
