Job summary

City of Muskogee is seeking a Parks & Recreation Maintenance Worker III to lead a small crew in maintenance and renovation of city parks and facilities. This role performs lead duties, operates tools and equipment, and ensures safety compliance.

You will work outdoors, report to the Parks & Recreation Maintenance Leader III, and may require weekend work. A high school diploma and two years of maintenance experience with leadership are required; preferred experience with light to medium

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience as a trades helper or maintenance laborer, with at least one year leading and coordinating or supervising.
Preference given to those with experience operating light to medium construction equipment.
Ability to lead a group of workers performing manual labor in varying weather conditions and read plans.

Responsibilities

Oversees and operates hand tools, power tools, light trucks, tractors and small equipment.
Oversees park maintenance, cleans restrooms and common areas.
Repairs and maintains city parks, fences, playground equipment, irrigation systems and related facilities.
Directs and participates in horticulture and maintenance tasks, including pruning, planting, and chemical application.
Performs special events setup and digs trenches, lays pipe, installs and repairs valves.
