Job summary

Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission in Federal Way seeks a Senior Park Aide to lead park operations, assist rangers, and support campground and maintenance tasks at the Tahoma Gateway Area West.

You will educate visitors, help with registrations, safety, and interpretive programs, and work on site five days a week with regular hours. This role requires on-site work and contributes to a diverse park system.

Qualifications

• 12 months experience in building maintenance, grounds keeping, or related repair work and a valid unrestricted driver’s license (18+).
• 6 months cumulative experience as a Park Aide (or equivalent) with a valid unrestricted driver’s license (18+).
• 12 months experience in a Washington Conservation Corps program with a park agency, or a combination with Park Aide (≥3 months as Park Aide).

Responsibilities

• Leads Park Aides.
• Maintains parks facilities including campsites, restrooms, trails, and grounds.
• Operates park vehicles for maintenance tasks.
• Assists with administrative duties and daily camping registrations.
• Provides information on park rules, local events, and historic information.
