Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ca Drivers’ License required
• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
• Medical Examiner’s Card
• State of California Paramedic License
• CPR Card (AHA, HCP)
• ACLS Card (AHA)
• PALS Card (AHA) or PEPP
• Driving record per McCormick/AMR policy
• ICS courses IS-100B/200B/700A/800B

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine the best course of action using Paramedic protocols.
• Provide advanced medical care with defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families, providing information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage the scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
