Qualified applicants must hold a California Paramedic license, along with related certifications, and meet state ambulance licensing requirements as outlined in the posting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • CA driver's license.
  • Ambulance Driver’s License (DMV).
  • Medical Examiner’s Card.
  • State of California Paramedic License.
  • CPR Card (AHA HEALTH CARE PROVIDER).
  • ACLS Card (AHA).
  • PALS Card (AHA) or PEPP.
  • Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy.
  • ICS courses.
  • IS-100B (ICS 100).
  • IS-200B (ICS 200).
  • IS-700A (NIMS).
  • IS-800B (NIMS).

Responsibilities

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action.
  • Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Work collaboratively with allied health, public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
