Job summary

Virgin Islands Fire and Emergency Medical Services (VIFEMS) invites applications for a Senior Paramedic role. This position responds to emergency calls, renders advanced paramedical care, and leads on- scene operations while supervising lower-level EMT staff and students.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for transport, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with fire and police colleagues. A high school diploma and National Registry Paramedic certification are required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or equivalent and National Registry as Paramedic.
• Two years EMS experience.
• Knowledge of paramedic protocols and safety standards.
• Familiarity with CBAs and departmental policies.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency medical requests and provide advanced paramedical care.
• Lead and assist in training lower-level technicians and students.
• Ensure proper preparation for transport and compliance with transport regulations.
• Maintain equipment readiness and infection control standards.
• Coordinate with fire, law enforcement and health department partners.
• Oversee station operations and EMS staff on shift.
