Job summary

Hamilton County EMS is seeking a lead paramedic to provide emergency pre-hospital care and transportation, operating under general supervision. The role requires readiness for a 24/72 shift, administering life-saving treatments and coordinating with hospitals.

Base hours include regular and mandatory overtime, with overtime paid at time and a half. The ideal candidate holds a Tennessee Paramedic license (or National Registry) and ACLS/ITLS credentials, plus a valid Tennessee driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current TN Paramedic License or National Registry and eligible for Tennessee licensure prior to employment.
• Current ACLS and ITLS (or equivalent trauma training).
• Valid driver's license, Class D in Tennessee or state equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Stands by in readiness to respond to emergencies during a 24-hour tour of duty.
• Responds to emergency calls and assesses situations to determine treatment.
• Applies advanced life support or other appropriate treatment and administers drugs.
• Transports injured or ill to hospital and maintains communication with hospital personnel.
• Maintains records, equipment, and vehicle readiness; continuous training.
