Job summary

Hamilton County EMS is seeking a lead paramedic to provide emergency medical care and transport under a 24/72 shift schedule. You will stand by to respond to calls, assess needs, administer Advanced Life Support, and transport patients to hospital facilities.

Qualifications include a TN Paramedic License (or national registration), ACLS and ITLS, a valid TN driver license, and a high school diploma. Overtime is mandatory and paid at time and a half; safety sensitive position with drug testing

Qualifications

Must be at least nineteen (19) years of age at time of application.
Possess the equivalent of a high school diploma.
Possess a current TN Paramedic License or be Nationally Registered and eligible for Tennessee licensure prior to employment.
Possess current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and either ITLS or equivalent trauma training.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, Class D in Tennessee, or the equivalent from the employee’s state of residence.

Responsibilities

Responds to emergencies during a 24-hour tour of duty and provides emergency, pre-hospital care and transport.
Administers drugs and performs appropriate invasive procedures as directed.
Maintains records, equipment, and supplies; coordinates with hospitals and other professionals.
Educates and advises the public and staff about emergency medical response and role limitations.
