Job summary

American Medical Response is seeking Paramedics to provide advanced medical care in emergency call situations. You will use defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IV fluids, while communicating with patients and families to assure care.

You may lead scenes and unit operations, and must travel on short notice as needed. Responsibilities include operating ambulances in compliance with safety policies and laws, preparing mobile operations, and collaborating with allied health

Qualifications

• Experience as a paramedic with exposure to progressive paramedic protocols.
• Proficient in operating medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices.
• Strong communication with patients and families.
• Ability to lead the scene and unit management as needed.

Responsibilities

• Paramedics will assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Operate an ambulance in conjunction with applicable company safety policies, and traffic laws related to the operation of emergency medical response vehicles.
• Setting up and preparing the mobile operations.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel.
• Ability to immediately travel for a no-notice event.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.
