Job summary

Hamilton County EMS seeks a lead paramedic for a 24/72 shift schedule. As the lead medical staff of an ambulance, you provide emergency, pre-hospital care and transport within licensure constraints.

Essential duties include standing by, responding to calls, assessing, applying ALS, administering drugs, and training staff; you must maintain records and equipment and coordinate with hospital personnel.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency medical response and trauma care procedures.
• Ability to assess scenes, make rapid decisions and coordinate with hospitals.
• Strong communication skills with patients, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Stands by in readiness to respond to emergencies on a 24-hour tour; responds to calls and assesses needs.
• Applies advanced life support and administers medications as required; performs invasive procedures.
• Maintains records, replenishes supplies, assists in ongoing training, and coordinates with hospital personnel.
