Job summary

Midsouth Steel Inc. is seeking a Lead Painter to oversee the final painting stages of structural components, coordinate unloading, and ensure products meet quality standards.

The role requires liaising with paint, production, logistics, and management to maintain schedules and safety compliance, including AISC requirements. The position is a 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 3:15pm–1:30am) with overtime as assigned, located in College Park, GA.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting, structural steel fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of paint application standards and quality inspection practices.
• Familiarity with AISC quality documentation is preferred.
• Experience with production/tracking systems such as PowerFab is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate tasks across multiple departments and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the unloading of finished parts from paint booths and monitor daily production schedules.
• Perform visual paint inspections for defects and conduct final verifications to meet specs.
• Maintain logs and paperwork for finished goods and update production statuses.
• Act as liaison between production, finished goods, and logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch.
• Identify inefficiencies and promote lean improvements while maintaining safety standards.
