Qualifications

• Three to five years of commercial/institutional painting experience.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with Dartmouth College Driver Safety policy.
• Able to interact with the College community in a service-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in surface preparation and coating application methods.
• Knowledge of painting tools and maintenance.
• Knowledge of chemicals for paint removal and prep.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Computer skills including basic word processing and email.
• Safety knowledge for ladders, ropes, scaffolds.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect smaller sites to determine procedure, materials, and methods.
• Advise supervisor on materials/services needed for repairs.
• May supervise a small crew on routine projects.
• Communicate with building occupants regarding scheduled work.
• Prepare surfaces and apply coatings per specifications.
• Match and mix coating materials per instructions.
• Ensure coating finish meets surface protection requirements.
• Clean and store tools and equipment; dispose of used materials.
