Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Painter to perform high-quality painting, surface preparation, and facility repairs throughout the healthcare environment. The role works on the Dallas Campus, with a typical shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday

Qualifications

  • Requires at least 5 years of skilled/journeyman-level painting in commercial, institutional, or healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coatings, and finishing techniques.
  • Experience with spray booth and cup gun applications; knowledge of safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Determine types of tools and materials to be used for each assignment.
  • Coordinate with departments from initiation to finalization of jobs.
  • Match color of paints and stains for jobs.
  • Keep track of paperwork, time sheets, safety, meetings, and work orders.
  • Paint and perform sheetrock repairs, VCT, and carpet repairs.
  • Serve as supervisor in absence; act as Lead on assigned jobs as needed.
  • Prepare surfaces for paint; fill holes and joints with fillers.
  • Select and apply finishes; erect scaffolding when necessary.
  • Protect floors and furniture; clean brushes and spray guns.
  • Assist in maintaining time and material records for each job.
