Job summary

Impact Solutions in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Senior Paint & Powder Coating Process Engineer to lead industrial finishing operations and equipment selection for a new campus. You will guide line design, optimize performance, and drive safety initiatives with a strong focus on Lean practices and SAP integration.

The role demands 6–9+ years in manufacturing engineering for senior level or 3–5 years for level II, plus an engineering degree.

Qualifications

3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience with CAD, Lean tools, and finishing systems.
6–9+ years for Senior level with powder coat line architecture and SAP/ERP expertise.
2-year Associate Degree required; 4-year engineering degree preferred.
Willingness to travel 30–50% during ramp-up and relocation to Knoxville, TN.

Responsibilities

Serve as SME for all industrial powder coating, pre-treatment, and finishing operations.
Lead capital and equipment projects, specify coating line equipment and handling systems.
Drive process and line optimization; set KPIs, reduce scrap, improve efficiency.
Collaborate with Product Design Engineering on finish quality and manufacturability.
Lead Lean and safety initiatives; create SOPs and line workflows.
Support site ramp-up with temporary travel to sister facilities during onboarding.
