Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Lead Hazard Abatement Inspector to oversee assessments and remediation of lead hazards in residential sites. You will coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and program staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and prepare clearance documentation for single-family homes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or Environmental Science, at least one year in related work, and the ability to obtain a Lead Inspector

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health or Environmental Science.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• Ability to obtain Lead Inspector Certification within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs lead assessments according to federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintains documentation of inspections and remediation activities.
• Coordinates lead hazard control and remediation work in eligible housing units.
• Oversees contractors to ensure work is completed on schedule and in compliance.
• Prepares reports identifying lead hazards and required remediation activities.
• Notifies certified testing companies for clearance testing and coordinates timelines.
• Ensures clearance samples meet lead-safe standards for occupancy safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
