Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Environmental Science, or related field.
• At least 1 year of work experience in lead-related remediation or public health.
• Must obtain Lead Inspector Certification within 60 days of employment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with good driving record.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs lead assessments in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintains accurate documentation of inspections, remediation activities, contractor performance, and clearance results.
• Coordinates and monitors lead hazard control and remediation work in eligible housing units.
• Oversees contractors performing lead hazard abatement to ensure timely, compliant work.
• Prepares reports for single-family homes that identify lead hazards and required remediation.
• Notifies certified testing companies when clearance testing is required and coordinates timelines with contractors and staff.
• Ensures clearance samples meet lead-safe standards and homes are safe for occupants to return.
