The Seattle Public Library’s Central Library is seeking a Lead Page to support Shelving Operations. You will train Pages, monitor workflow, and assist with recruitment while performing essential shelving and customer service duties.

This full-time, AFSCME‑represented position reports to the Operations Supervisors for Shelving Operations and collaborates with Coordinating Library Technicians. This role handles scheduling, staffing decisions, and data entry, helping ensure a welcoming environment

Qualifikationen

• Customer Service: at least 1 year in a public environment.
• Shelving or filing: ability to sort and file alphabetically/numerically.
• Clear English communication, written and spoken.
• Leadership: guide staff and adjust priorities as needed.
• Teamwork: collaborate effectively in a library setting.
• Experience with basic computer software and staff terminals.
• Flexibility to adjust work hours and lift up to 40 pounds.

Aufgaben

• Lead Page duties: manage workflow and assist pages in Central Library.
• Train Pages and SHO staff, maintain training records.
• Create and maintain daily SHO schedules and monitor workload.
• Monitor supplies and order as needed for SHO unit.
• Provide input on new work routines and communicate with supervisors.
• Use library systems to generate pull lists and update item statuses.
• Enter data into electronic spreadsheets.
