Foth is currently seeking a Lead Packaging Systems Engineer who is team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented, with a desire to contribute to our clients' success and pursue new learning opportunities. This position is based in California with a work-from-home arrangement.

Position Overview:

The primary focus is to lead projects for improving existing packaging systems and integrating new ones for our clients. Responsibilities span all phases from concept to execution, including:

Existing Packaging Systems

- Auditing & data analysis

- Solution development

- Documentation updating/development and management

New Packaging Systems

- Scoping

- Estimating

- Scheduling

- Design development

- Installation

- On-site commissioning

- Performance testing

- Documentation development and management

Key objectives include presenting proposals, communicating with internal and external audiences, and mentoring engineers and designers. Travel to other Foth offices or client sites (approximately 30% annually) will be required.

Required Qualifications:

• BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience
• 10+ years of experience with design and/or integration of food/beverage systems
• Capital project execution experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 15+ years in packaging systems design, including conveyor types, ancillary equipment (e.g., bulk glue systems, balers, coders)
• 5+ years in the beverage industry, especially high-speed container handling (>1000 containers/min)
• Experience in consulting environments
• Understanding of balanced line flow
• CAD software proficiency
• PE registration or eligibility
• Bilingual in Spanish (B1 proficiency)

Preferred Experience with High-Speed Packaging Equipment:

• Liquid or solid filling and closure systems
• Labeling systems
• Inspection and rejection systems
• Case erecting and packing systems
• Depalletizers, palletizers, stretch wrapping
