Foth is currently seeking a team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented Lead Packaging Systems Engineer who has a desire to contribute to our clients' success and is looking for new learning experiences and opportunities for career growth. This position will be based in California and is a work-from-home opportunity.
Position Overview:
The primary focus of this position is to lead projects for improving existing packaging systems and integrating new packaging systems for our clients. You will be involved in all phases of the project execution cycle, from concept through execution. Your responsibilities will include:
Existing Packaging Systems
- Auditing & data analysis
- Solution development
- Documentation updating/development and management
New Packaging Systems
- Scoping
- Estimating
- Scheduling
- Design development
- Installation
- On-site commissioning
- Performance testing
- Documentation development and management
The role also involves presenting proposals and information to both internal and external audiences, coaching, delegating to, and mentoring engineers and designers. Travel to other Foth offices or client locations will be approximately 30% annually.
Required Qualifications:- BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- 10+ years of experience with design and/or integration of food/beverage systems
- Capital project execution experience
Preferred Qualifications:- 15+ years in packaging systems design, including conveyor types, ancillary equipment (bulk glue delivery, balers, coders, etc.)
- 5+ years in the beverage industry, specifically high-speed container handling (1000+ containers/minute)
- Experience in a consulting environment
- Understanding of balanced line flow for packaging systems
- CAD software proficiency
- PE registration or ability to obtain it
- Bilingual in Spanish (B1 proficiency)
Preferred Experience with High-Speed Packaging Equipment:- Liquid or solid filling and closure systems
- Labeling systems
- Inspection and rejection systems
- Case erecting and packing systems
- Depalletizers, palletizers, and stretch wrapping
