Job summary

Westrock Coffee is seeking a Packaging Engineer to lead wet beverage packaging development across cans, glass, and PET bottles. You will apply materials science and high-speed filling knowledge to deliver shelf-stable packaging that meets quality standards.

This role collaborates with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Production to scale designs from prototype to production while staying cost-conscious and compliant with food-contact regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in packaging engineering for beverages.
• Experience across aluminum cans, glass bottles, and PET bottles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop primary packaging solutions for wet beverages (cans, glass, PET).
• Select materials and validate substrates, closures, and labels for shelf stability and cost.
• Scale from prototype to full production across canning, bottling, and PET filling lines.
• Partner with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Production to bring designs to market.
• Address packaging issues such as seam integrity, bottle defects, and labeling accuracy.
