Job Title: Lead Oversight Compliance Specialist

Alpha Omega is seeking a Lead Oversight Compliance Specialist to provide senior technical and operational leadership for the DHS ICE 287(g) national compliance oversight program. In addition to overseeing the core assessment lifecycle, the Lead will coordinate national workload execution and quality control, advise the Assistant Director for PSPD and senior ICE leadership on systemic risks and emerging trends, provide final technical review of sensitive products, and help resolve complex compliance matters involving Field Offices and law enforcement agency partners. This role requires mature judgment, executive-level communication, and the ability to translate program requirements into consistent national assessment practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, prioritization, scheduling, and quality oversight of 287(g) compliance assessments involving tribal, state, and local law enforcement partners nationwide.
  • Guide the work of Oversight Compliance Specialists, promote consistent application of review standards, and provide technical direction, peer review, and escalation support.
  • Oversee or personally conduct reviews of complex, high-profile, or sensitive assessment packages, corrective actions, final reports, and decision packages.
  • Serve as a principal technical advisor to the Assistant Director for PSPD and senior ICE headquarters leadership on national compliance trends, systemic risks, emerging vulnerabilities, and significant partner concerns.
  • Provide final technical clearance for high-visibility or high-liability compliance products before executive review, ensuring conclusions are evidence-based, defensible, and appropriately documented.
  • Establish long-range objectives and lead the refinement of inspection methodologies, templates, quality controls, tracking mechanisms, and reporting practices.
  • Resolve complex or contentious matters involving assessment findings, corrective actions, agreement or contract implications, operational concerns, and closure decisions.
  • Coordinate with ICE Field Offices, ERO leadership, program stakeholders, and law enforcement agency partners to address deficiencies and advance corrective actions.
  • Develop national-level workload, trend, risk, and performance reporting for leadership, identify recurring issues, and recommend programmatic improvements.
  • Perform or support core assessment review, reporting, tracking, and closure activities as needed to meet mission priorities.
Required Experience/Skills
  • At least seven years of relevant professional experience, including demonstrated technical leadership of complex compliance or oversight activities.
  • Substantial experience evaluating compliance findings, corrective actions, supporting evidence, and formal assessment products.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across multiple organizations or geographic locations while maintaining consistent quality standards.
  • Ability to advise senior leaders, synthesize complex information, and communicate national trends, systemic risks, and recommended actions clearly.
  • Experience reviewing high-visibility or sensitive reports and resolving difficult compliance or stakeholder issues.
  • Strong strategic planning, methodology development, process improvement, workload management, and quality-assurance capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, sound independent judgment, and the ability to mentor and guide other specialists.
Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $116,000 - $170,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
