Qualifications

Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced Lead Outpatient Therapist or Outpatient Manager to join the team!

As the Lead Outpatient Therapist or Outpatient Manager, you will oversee the clinical support activities at our facility. Your responsibilities include managing program goals, staff, resources, and equipment, ensuring high standards of care. You will leverage your background in behavioral health and at least two years in a managerial or supervisory role to implement program objectives, oversee budgets, and enforce policies that improve participant involvement and program efficacy. Additionally, your leadership will ensure compliance with standards set by TJC, Medicare, and other regulatory bodies. This role requires a proactive, empathetic leader committed to fostering a positive environment and continuous improvement in patient care and staff performance.

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to treat individuals and families with diagnosed emotional and mental disorders.
• Conduct individual, group, or family therapy as appropriate.
• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop discharge plans.
• Provide initial treatment planning based on assessments and coordinate additional services as needed.
• Document therapy services according to standards, revising as necessary.
• Maintain a caseload as assigned.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to facilitate services.
• Provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Offer case management, discharge planning, or after-care planning.
• Assist in staff training on behavior management or crisis intervention.
• Coordinate clinical, psychosocial, or educational activities with patients and families.
• Evaluate patient needs and determine referrals to other programs or facilities.
• Assist in training new clinical staff and interns, and in developing clinical programming.
• Coordinate activities of clinical and direct care personnel, providing guidance.
• Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a positive attitude towards patients, prioritizing safety and resolving complaints.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, or PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
• At least 5 years of experience as a therapist, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role within the specific population.
• Experience with PHP/IOP levels of care is highly preferred.
• Licensure as LPC, LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, psychologist, or equivalent, with state or national licensure required.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility.
