Job summary

Cayuga Health System is seeking a Lead Laboratory Assistant - Outpatient Phlebotomist to perform adult and pediatric phlebotomy and related tasks. The role includes specimen processing, patient registration, insurance verification, and accurate patient demographics.

Responsibilities cover venipuncture, labeling with two IDs, QA participation, and use of Meditech, Accureg, and Cayuga connect. Onsite, full-time, days, with rotating weekends and a 7am–3pm shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years working phlebotomy experience.
• Vocational phlebotomy (or related) course/program and certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs proper venipuncture and post-care with correct ID labeling.
• Registers patients and handles requisitioning; uses Meditech, Accureg, Cayuga connect.
• Maintains quality assurance and workflow across approvals and departments.
