Job summary

Backcountry Outlet is seeking a highly skilled Lead Shop Tech to oversee all shop activities at our Ogden store, including repairs, maintenance, and assembly of bikes and ski/snowboard gear. You will lead a team of shop techs and ensure excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in bike and ski/snowboard tech roles, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to coach others. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as bike and ski/snowboard tech.
• Strong knowledge of bike and ski/snowboard mechanics.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor shop techs.
• Willing to work weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Partner with management to set shop priorities and meet store goals.
• Oversee repair and maintenance of bike and ski/snowboard gear.
• Perform repairs and tune-ups as needed.
• Build, assemble, and tune new bikes.
• Mount new skis and snowboards.
• Repair and tune customers’ gear.
• Provide expert gear advice and product fit.
• Train and mentor shop techs.
• Manage inventory and parts availability.
• Stay current with industry trends.
• Collaborate on shop marketing strategies.
• Assist on the sales floor and store operations.
• Support Store Manager with opening and closing.
• Ensure security and alarm systems function.
• Process cash and credit transactions daily.
