Job summary

Powder Mountain, a year-round resort in the Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah, seeks a Manager for Outdoor Adventure to oversee program implementation, itinerary development, staffing, safety, and top-tier member service across activities from rock climbing to backcountry expeditions. Will direct staff training and daily operations while maintaining luxury standards.

The role requires extensive guide programming experience, leadership, and the ability to travel regionally and internationally

Qualifications

• Extensive professional background in Outdoor Adventure and guide programming.
• Extensive professional experience in guide hiring, staffing and training.
• Background in backcountry travel and trip operations.
• Familiarity with diverse portfolio of Outdoor Adventure activities.
• Developed leadership skills focused on culture and high standards of operations.
• Luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Emergency management experience preferred.
• Drive work vehicles.
• Spend extended periods of time on backcountry programming.
• Pass background checks to lead and run youth programming.
• Experience with technical rope skillset.
• SPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire and staff summer and winter seasonal guide staff.
• Train guide staff for seasonal programming.
• Maintain high standard of operations for safety and member interaction.
• Support in planning of expedition programs.
• Develop SOP for daily and expedition programs including itineraries, staffing, training and emergency action plans associated with each activity.
• Execute daily programming with an attention to detail on luxury standards.
• Ensure smooth backcountry operations for daily and expeditions programs.
• Train staff on specialized backcountry knowledge and certifications needed for programs.
• Travel for expedition programs both regionally and internationally.
