Job summary

GE Vernova in Niskayuna, NY, seeks a Principal Cybersecurity Engineer – Embedded Systems to architect, implement, and test OT cybersecurity solutions for ICS. The role leads multi-million-dollar R&D programs across GE energy businesses and government partners.

You will foster collaborations with government, national labs, universities, and partners to mature embedded cybersecurity technologies from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypes, publish papers, and contribute to open-source

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or master's with extensive industry experience
• Proven track record writing winning proposals for DOE/ARPA-e/DOD/DARPA/etc.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience (architecture, Linux, protocols)
• 5+ years of Linux security and driver development
• 5+ years of cryptographic knowledge (TLS, X.509)
• 5+ years of hardware-based security experience (HSM, TPM, TrustZone, Secure Boot)

Responsibilities

• Shape and pursue external funding opportunities for advanced research in the OT-cybersecurity space with U.S. government agencies
• Lead proposal activities as principal investigator and technical domain expert
• Collaborate with universities, national labs, and partners to advance OT-cybersecurity for embedded systems
• Lead multi-million-dollar R&D projects as project leader and PI
• Drive technology roadmaps and develop OT-cybersecurity technologies from lab to prototypes
• Publish papers, file patents, and contribute to open-source communities
