Southern Orthodontic Partners is seeking a Lead Orthodontist to oversee two busy practices in Hendersonville and Clarksville, TN. You’ll work under our Chief Orthodontic Officer, guiding clinical care and leadership across teams.
You’ll influence growth, mentor clinicians, and elevate patient experience while maintaining high clinical standards and collaboration with senior leadership.
There comes a point in an orthodontist’s career when being a great clinician is no longer the only goal.
You want greater influence. More responsibility. A voice in how a practice grows. The opportunity to develop people, shape culture, and become the doctor others look to for leadership.
We’re seeking an experienced Lead Orthodontist to serve our Hendersonville and Clarksville, Tennessee communities, with the unique opportunity to work under the leadership of our Chief Orthodontic Officer. This isn’t simply a more senior clinical position. It’s an opportunity to step into meaningful practice leadership while having one of SOP’s senior clinical leaders in your corner—providing collaboration, mentorship, perspective, and support as you continue developing as both an orthodontist and a leader.
Many Lead Orthodontist positions ask you to lead—and then leave you to figure out the rest.
In this role, you’ll have a unique relationship with our Chief Orthodontic Officer, giving you access to a level of clinical and leadership collaboration that isn’t available in a typical associate opportunity. You’ll have someone to challenge ideas with, learn from, collaborate with, and lean on as you navigate the clinical, cultural, and growth opportunities within your practices.
You’ll be trusted to lead while knowing you don’t have to lead alone.
Serving patients across Hendersonville and Clarksville, you’ll step into busy, established practice environments with strong patient flow, referral support, experienced teams, and proven systems already in place.
Your role is not simply to maintain them. Your opportunity is to make them better. You’ll help determine how we elevate clinical care, strengthen our teams, improve the patient experience, deepen community relationships, and continue growing these practices for the future. We want your perspective. We want your ideas. And we want a Lead Orthodontist who sees opportunity and asks, “How can we make this even better?”.
Your success won’t be measured solely by how many patients you treat.
As our Lead Orthodontist, you’ll help influence the entire health of the practice.
Deliver outstanding orthodontic care while helping establish expectations around clinical quality, consistency, efficiency, and exceptional outcomes.
You’ll have clinical autonomy to treat your patients with confidence while benefiting from collaboration with our Chief Orthodontic Officer and broader doctor network.
Great practices aren’t built by one doctor.
You’ll partner with practice and operational leadership to develop strong, engaged teams where accountability, communication, trust, and patient care all matter.
Your leadership should be felt not only in how the practice performs—but in how the team feels coming to work.
Patients choose doctors they trust.
You’ll have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients, parents, referring providers, schools, and community partners throughout Hendersonville and Clarksville. We want you to become more than the orthodontist patients see.
We want you to become the orthodontist the community knows.
You’ll work collaboratively with clinical and operational leadership to identify opportunities for growth, strengthen referral relationships, enhance the patient experience, and help these practices reach their full potential.
This is an environment where strong ideas are welcomed—and where doctors have an opportunity to influence what comes next.
Maybe you’ve already held a formal leadership position.
Or maybe you’ve spent the last several years becoming an exceptional orthodontist and know you’re capable of contributing at a higher level. Either way, we’re interested in where you want your career to go next.
For the right person, this role can be a platform for significantly more than your next few years of clinical practice.
It can be an opportunity to expand your influence within orthodontics.
Think Like an Owner. Be Supported Like a Partner.
Exceptional doctors should be able to lead exceptional practices without carrying every administrative burden themselves.
Our teams provide support across operations, marketing, recruiting, HR, finance, technology, and other business functions so you can spend more of your energy where your leadership has the greatest impact.
You’ll still have responsibility.
You’ll still have accountability.
You’ll still have a voice.
But you won’t have to do everything alone.

Lead the practice. Help grow the business. Develop the team. Strengthen the community. And have an opportunity to invest in the organization you’re helping build.
