Job summary

Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics in Cypress, TX seeks an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support the orthodontist, prepare treatment materials, and manage patient education. You will help with bonding, brackets, retainers, and patient communications during visits.

The role requires an active RDA license in Texas and CPR certification, with a preference for at least 1 year of orthodontic experience and bilingual Spanish skills for patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
• Current CPR certification
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
• Minimum 1 year orthodontic dental assistant experience preferred
• Bilingual Spanish is required

Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontist in treating patients.
• Instruct patients on elastic treatment.
• Prioritize patient safety for patients and team.
• Adhere to OSHA and Infection Control protocols.
• Maintain and update digital patient information.
• Prepare tray setups per doctor preferences and procedures.
• Educate patients and parents on oral health benefits.
• Monitor patient well-being during visits.
• Help maintain office cleanliness and infection control.
• Mix amalgam, cement, and prepare impression materials.
• Pour, trim, and polish impression trays.
• Assist with bonding, banding, adjustments, and debonding orthodontic patients.
• Place and cement bands; set up brackets and remove excess cement.
• Make retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions.
• Ensure smooth appointment flow; be point person for escalations.
• Coach, train, and develop orthodontic team members
