University of West Georgia invites applications for a part-time Student Assistant - Lead Orientation Leader. This role supports New Student Orientation, mentors new students, and helps coordinate events on campus.

You will work with professional staff, lead small groups, assist with training, and manage logistics such as check-in, campus tours, meals, and materials. A strong emphasis on leadership, communication, and reliability is required.

Qualifications

• Must have UWG Orientation Leader experience in the last 3 years.
• Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled during the academic year.
• Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Be available to work all required Orientation and training dates.
• Possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive University vehicles.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and leader for new students and Orientation Leaders by demonstrating responsibility, maturity, professionalism, and leadership.
• Assist professional staff with the preparation, coordination, and execution of New Student Orientation programs, activities, and events.
• Facilitate Orientation activities and small groups while introducing new students and guests to the University of West Georgia, campus resources, traditions, and student life.
• Provide guidance, support, and accountability to Orientation Leaders while assisting with team meetings, communication, team building, and leadership initiatives.
• Assist with Orientation logistics, including check-in, transitions, campus tours, meals, materials, supplies, and event preparation.
• Participate in weekly Orientation Leader trainings and professional development throughout the academic year and summer, including assisting with training and facilitating leadership activities.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with students, families, faculty, staff, campus partners, and University guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned that support the goals and objectives of the New Student Orientation program.
