SEIU Healthcare Michigan leads a statewide workforce union, seeking a Lead Organizer to empower home care workers through strategic campaigns and organizing committees. You will build and maintain campaigns, represent workers, and drive bargaining and legislative efforts with a diverse team in Michigan.

The role demands experience leading organizing efforts, strong communication, and a commitment to advancing worker rights within SEIU’s mission.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of experience in union representation and/or organizing.
• Experience leading teams in organizing or contract campaigns preferred.
• Basic computer skills; experience with organizing database systems a plus.
• Strong commitment to SEIU Healthcare Michigan’s mission and goals.
• Ability to work with members and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Aufgaben

• Implement plans for internal recruitment and campaigns to improve outcomes for workers.
• Collaborate with a team to develop issues and demands for campaigns while maintaining relations with labor management.
• Address member inquiries, represent members in disciplinary proceedings, and initiate grievances per CBA.
• Advance local political campaign objectives by promoting member participation and recruiting organizers.
• Work with staff to set goals, create actionable plans, and ensure accountability.
• Engage Executive Board members and leaders to pursue local goals.
• Integrate campaign functions with organizing efforts to grow daily field activities.
• Participate in mobilization events, member events, and leadership conferences.
• Provide feedback to improve local strategy and implementation.
• Maintain organized membership data and grievances records.
