Job summary

Green Corps is seeking a Lead Organizer to recruit and train environmental organizers and supervise campaigns under the Executive Director. The role requires national movement building and geographic flexibility to move for campaigns.

You will train staff, develop classroom and field curricula, oversee 1-2 entry-level organizers, and coordinate 3-5 campaigns per year while engaging partner organizations and donors. Strong communication and travel willingness are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of full-time non-profit experience with grassroots activism and volunteer/staff management.
  • Strong staff and program management skills; ability to work within a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to tell a compelling story and connect with people.
  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to travel extensively and move multiple times per year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement organizer training curriculum with the Executive Director.
  • Oversee development of 1-2 entry-level organizers; conduct planning meetings and site visits.
  • Train 8 weeks of classroom training; run sessions on organizing skills and strategies.
  • Manage 3-5 short-term campaigns annually and coordinate with environmental partner organizations.
  • Recruit applicants through online and campus outreach; supervise recruiters and conduct interviews.
  • Participate in fundraising with major donor meetings, letters, and events.
  • Lead a grassroots campaign office in summer; flexible to relocate for campaigns.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment on significant matters.
