Job summary

Oteemo is seeking a Data Scientist to lead optimization and ML model development for allocating scarce parts across programs. You will own the modeling lifecycle from problem formulation to production deployment, collaborating closely with program stakeholders to balance competing priorities.

You will design MILP/constraint optimization and ML pipelines, validate results with historical data, and mentor junior data scientists while partnering with engineers to deploy scalable services.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience building optimization and/or ML models for resource allocation, scheduling, or supply chain problems.
• Deep hands-on experience with optimization solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools) and MILP/constraint optimization.
• Strong Python skills, with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, PyTorch) and data manipulation (pandas, NumPy).
• Experience with real-world supply chain, inventory, or program data.
• Excellent communication skills; comfortable presenting complex tradeoffs to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement optimization models for allocating scarce parts and resources across programs.
• Develop ML models to forecast demand, supply risk, and part availability.
• Translate evolving priorities into objective functions and constraints.
• Validate model outputs with historical decisions and stakeholder expectations.
• Maintain data pipelines to keep models current with live data.
• Present modeling tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior data scientists on optimization techniques.
• Partner with software engineers to productionize models as scalable services.
