Quantinuum in Broomfield, CO is seeking a Lead Optics Engineer to help build complex trapped-atom/ion systems or photonics for scalable quantum computers. You will work with a team on concepts for large-scale machines and communicate trade studies and design ideas to technical, leadership, and external teams.

Responsibilities include mapping enabling technologies, developing roadmaps for future quantum computers, and leading design projects with suppliers.

Formación

• PhD degree minimum or completed prior to start date.
• 7+ years’ experience in qubits, atomic physics, optics, lasers, photonic ICs, vacuum systems, electronics or cryogenics.
• U.S. Person: citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder.
• No nationality from PRC or Russia unless dual US citizen.

Responsabilidades

• Communicate enabling technologies and develop roadmaps for next generation systems.
• Plan, prioritize, and advise on R&D path for future quantum computers.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to architect, design, and develop subsystems.
• Track external/internal technology development to update R&D plans.
• Lead development and design projects with suppliers.
• Communicate technological progress to internal and external stakeholders.
