Job summary

Des Moines Public School District is seeking an Operations Engineer Chief, Class 4 at Goodrell Middle School in Des Moines, IA. The role runs 6:00am–2:30pm with a pay rate of $23.73 per hour. You will lead custodial staff, manage inventories, and ensure safety and proper building operation across shifts.

The position requires custodial experience and leadership ability, plus strong communication and computer/Office skills to support facility operations and campus welfare.

Qualifications

• Three years of custodial experience.
• Two years of leadership experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead custodial staff in assigned facilities and coordinate staff schedules.
• Maintain inventories and supplies and conduct basic building safety inspections.
• Provide maintenance and repair to equipment and facilities; perform custodial duties.
• Ensure facility is heated, ventilated and maintained during operations.
