Overview

The Lead Operations Engineer works primarily with enterprise customers of Edifecs products, proactively assisting them with post-sales installation, configuration, upgrade, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operational management. Responsibilities include taking a proactive leadership role working with the Engineering team and Customers to triage and resolve highly complex, technical, and application-related issues impacting product performance or broader customer adoption. The role involves partnering with Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Sales Engineering teams to resolve support issues, document bugs, provide UAT on product builds, and ensure successful server installations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, along with a strong background in research and implementation. This role requires working closely with our IT SaaS team to design, implement, and maintain containerized environments and orchestration systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations for Edifecs/Cotiviti hosted or customer-hosted Encounter Management applications, including deploying upgrades, configuration changes, and managing submission operations.
• Provide technical support to enterprise clients for product-related issues.
• Partner with Product Support Engineers and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Analyze application and database performance, identify bottlenecks, and report fixes to the development team.
• Provide workarounds or temporary fixes to prevent processing disruptions.
• Create and deliver ad hoc reports to support client operations.
• Proactively manage submission cycles and respond to customer-reported issues.
• Plan and execute encounter submission workflows, including scheduling, batch management, and automation.
• Deliver a consistent, responsive customer experience.
• Gather detailed problem information from customers for effective resolution.
• Reproduce customer issues in controlled environments.
• Follow operational procedures for case management.
• Continuously improve troubleshooting skills and product knowledge.
• Update knowledge bases and create reusable documentation.
• Work in shifts scheduled between 5 AM and 6 PM local time, with possible weekend on-call support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience supporting Java-based enterprise applications.
• 7+ years supporting enterprise products.
• Knowledge of Java, JMS, SQL Server/Oracle, Web/Application Servers like Apache Tomcat/IBM WAS.
• Experience with integration or ESB software such as Edifecs XEngine, TIBCO EMS, IBM Websphere, MuleSoft, or Intersystems Ensemble.
• Experience deploying/supporting high-volume applications on AWS.
• Understanding of SOAP and REST web services.
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues across various platform components.
• Ability to guide customers through complex deployments remotely.
• Familiarity with Linux, HPUX, AIX.
• Knowledge of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, HL7, NCPDP) and HIPAA transactions is a plus.
• Prior scripting and programming experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of network/internet technologies and protocols like TCP/IP, sFTP, HTTP, AS2.
• Excellent communication skills.

Base salary ranges from $101,288 to $151,932 annually, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid leave, holidays, and PTO. This role is remote, with virtual interviews. Application review is ongoing, with an anticipated close date of 06/22/2025.
