Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) is hiring for a Lead Operating Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. The role runs 7am–4pm Monday to Friday with rotating on-call and involves painting, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance across the facility.

The position requires 3–5 years in related work, trade school or equivalent training, and leadership experience. On-site presence is mandatory, with a comprehensive benefits package and safety training provided.

Lead Operating Engineer

Schedule: 7am-4pm Monday through Friday + rotating on-call

What your day-to-day will look like:

• painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance (as allowed by licensing requirements)
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of Engineering team
• Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
• Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned

Required qualifications:

• 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive
• Strong customer service skills
