Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Principal Developer, Oncology Data & AI Systems to strengthen the AI-ready data foundation powering Oncology R&D. You will lead data pipelines, data governance, and scalable data products that accelerate model development and evidence generation.

The role focuses on Clinical, Pre-Clinical, RWD and ‘omics platforms across oncology, enabling trusted datasets and collaboration with Data Product Engineers and Data Scientists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of data engineering experience in healthcare, with data modeling and architecture.
• Proficient in Python, R, SQL for data processing and automation.
• Hands-on cloud data platform experience, AWS preferred.
• Experience with relational, NoSQL, and graph data technologies.
• Ability to lead cross-functional delivery and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, build, and lifecycle management of Oncology R&D data products.
• Develop AI-ready data ecosystems enabling advanced analytics and GenAI applications.
• Design data pipelines for structured and unstructured data using Python, R, SQL, AWS.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and compliance across platforms.
