Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore is hiring a Lead Office Specialist to keep daily operations running efficiently, train new administrative staff, and maintain adequate department supplies. You will help ensure accurate charge entry and that clinic dictation is completed by physicians, working with the Practice Manager on billing corrections to support timely payments.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2–3 years in a healthcare setting with growth, and 5 years healthcare

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–3 years in a healthcare setting with growth and increased responsibility.
  • 5 years healthcare experience with supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the clinical practice operates efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Train and instruct all new administrative staff members.
  • Maintain adequate levels of administrative supplies for the department.
  • Ensure charge entry is captured and clinic dictation is completed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with Practice Manager on billing corrections to refile and collect payments.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

The Lead Office Specialist is responsible for ensuring the clinical practice operates in an efficient manner on a daily basis. Trains and instructs all new administrative staff members. Maintains adequate levels of administrative supplies for the department. Insures that all charge entry is captured as well as making sure all clinic dictation is completed by the physicians. Works collectively with the Practice Manager on the billing correction list to insure claims are refiled and paid. Demonstrates excellent customer service while interacting with patients and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years in healthcare setting and is able to demonstrate growth and development which resulted in greater responsibility within an organization.
  • 5 years experience in a healthcare setting with supervisory responsibility preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred

USD $21.98/Hr.

USD $36.27/Hr.
