Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Offensive Operations tooling ecosystem, owning development, integration and standards across the program. You will work hands-on, directing adversary emulation and complex red team engagements while mentoring operators and ensuring scalable, high-quality outcomes.

This role partners with security, engineering and threat intel teams to translate findings into stronger defenses and align offensive capabilities with enterprise priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of information security experience.
• 7+ years in offensive operations and tactics.
• 5+ years building or using offensive tooling in real environments.
• 3+ years leading complex technical engagements.
• 3+ years in one or more programming/scripting languages (Python, C/C++, C#, PowerShell, Golang).
• 3+ years of technical writing and post-engagement debriefs.

Responsibilities

• Lead offensive tooling development, integration, and evolution.
• Promote best practices for tooling design, automation, and standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for offensive operations.
• Lead or support complex adversary emulation and red team engagements.
• Design and execute advanced testing across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Mentor operators and engineers; share tradecraft and problem-solving approaches.
• Collaborate with security, engineering and threat intel to improve defensive measures.
• Research emerging threats and improve offensive capabilities continually.
