Kalamazoo Prep Academy is seeking a Temporary Lead Nurture Specialist to support enrollment and student services. This role focuses on high‑quality customer service, effective communications, and accurate enrollment processing during school hours, 10–15 hours weekly.

Reports to the School Leader/Principal at KPA. The position requires at least one year of sales outbound experience, strong relationship skills, and a willingness to work on site at Kalamazoo Prep Academy.

Qualifications

Kalamazoo Prep Academy is hiring a Temporary Lead Nurture Specialist. $14-$16/per hour based on experience.

The academy is a year-round alternative high school diploma program for students ages 15-22. We are a mission-based school that meets students where they are, works to identify and eliminate barriers, and builds personal and meaningful parent-like relationships with each student. We offer half-day sessions, blended learning opportunities and personalized education plans to all youth who seek help, with a priority of concern and commitment to those who are most at risk and no other service is available. Position Description

Kalamazoo Prep Academy is seeking an innovative Lead Nurture who will play a critical role in the Student Support department with enrolling students. This position has primary responsibility for providing the highest level of customer service and support through effective and efficient communications and enrollment processing. These include, but are not limited to, all state and school policies and procedures about Student Services. This person will value accuracy and confidentiality and will have the ability to work well under pressure while handling multiple tasks. The successful candidate will display a keen attention to detail, possess a variety of complex computer skills, critical thinking skills, and a keen sense of strong organizational skills for a complex and ever-changing environment. Able to develop strong, trusting, and nurturing conversations with the students and parents/guardians of KPA. This position will be seasonal and part-time, working 10-15 hours per week, during school hours, and will report directly to the School Leader/Principal at KPA.

Essential Duties

• Use a consultative approach to educate and support families interested in our online program


• Strive to reach registration goals and contribute to the growth of the business


• Ability to actively handle objections and counsel concerns using a consultative approach


• Strong sales approach to handle Inbound and Outbound calls professionally, accurately, consistently, and efficiently


• Handle Inbound and Outbound calls in a phone queue setting, assisting families with program inquiries and registration


• Handle chat inquiries from prospective families


• Use a sales approach to register families using our education management system


• Use a consultative approach to build rapport


• Understand different state enrollment requirements to determine student eligibility


• Maintain a high level of knowledge of all program processes and qualifications


• Create and maintain accurate prospect and customer records in CRM’s and Enrollment Portals


• Maintain accuracy of student records/data in accordance with all regulatory requirements.


• Participate in ongoing training


• Refer the lead family to the enrollment team for support with the enrollment process and next steps


• Other duties as assigned

Required to:

• Have minimum one year sales-related outbound call experience


• Honor written Board Policies and Administrative Regulations


• Be able to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time


• Be able to lift 25 lbs.


• Be able to sit in a chair for long intervals


• Willing to work from the Kalamazoo Prep Academy facility

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or equivalent, minimum high school diploma


• Three (3) years of related experience


• Experience in a school setting (preferred)


• Must develop genuine and positive relationships with students/families/staff


• Ability to maximize technology for effective communication with students, staff, and parents


• Ability to handle multiple tasks at once in an effective manner


• Works well with a team


• Very strong customer service skills and a strong communicator


• Maintain a positive “can-do” attitude

• Be a self-starter and an independent thinker


• Technological skills, computer knowledge, and ability to rapidly adapt to new technology (Chrome, Google, etc.).
