Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant Team Lead at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY. You will work closely with the Nursing Assistant team to oversee education, support RN leadership, and model best practices in patient care and safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification (provided if needed), and CNA certification preferred. The role includes hourly rounds, assisting with toileting and mobility, and ensuring a clean bedside environment on three

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent experience.
• BLS- will be provided if needed.
• NYS Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Toileting, ambulating, repositioning, monitoring and recording fluid intake and output, recording patient weight, obtaining vital signs, and reporting abnormal findings or changes in the patient's condition to the RN.
• Reinforcing education with patients, e.g., incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
• Maintaining a clean and organized patient bedside area to ensure a safe workspace.
• Intentionally rounding on each patient every hour.
