The nurse will participate in ongoing educational activities, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support trauma and surgical services at BAMC.

Qualifications

• Graduate or higher degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Foreign nursing graduates must complete CGFNS program and pass English proficiency exam.
• Current, active, unrestricted nursing license in the U.S. with NCLEX passed.
• Exemption possible for current federal employees in the 0610 series with documentation.
• One year of professional nursing experience at the next lower grade or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Apply mastery of nursing to advancing anesthesia practice and standards.
• Comply with current anesthesia standards and patient care protocols.
• Conduct and participate in educational programs to improve anesthesia nursing practice.
• Provide anesthesia care within scope of practice and clinical privileges.
• Administer anesthetics by inhalation, regional, IV, or topical methods.
• Observe patients during surgery to maintain appropriate anesthesia depth.
• Provide emergency services to resuscitate and stabilize patients as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
