Job summary

Defense Health Agency (DHA) seeks a Physician Anesthesiologist to provide anesthesia services at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, TX. The position supports a premier DoD medical facility with emphasis on patient care, teaching, and collaborative practice within the Anesthesiology Service.

You must have an MD/DO, active US medical license, and completed or equivalent residency in Anesthesiology.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from a US/Canada‑accredited program; transcripts may be required.
• Current, active medical license in the United States or territory.
• Completion of approved Anesthesiology residency; board eligibility/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia services for all surgical/procedural cases.
• Administer nerve blocks and anesthesia techniques for pain management.
• Supervise recovery room activities and administer postoperative care.
• Instruct nurse anesthesia students, physicians, interns, and rotating residents.
• Perform advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures in anesthesia.
• Make treatment recommendations based on current best practices and new techniques.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
